Guide cover: Different phone or address on other apps? How to make them match

Your shop is listed in many places. Google, Justdial, food apps, Facebook. If one of them shows an old phone or address, a customer may call a dead number. Pick the right details once, then make every listing say the same thing.

Ravi runs a mobile repair shop. Last year he moved two lanes away and got a new number.

He changed his Google listing. He forgot his Justdial page.

A customer told him, "I called your old number three times. Then I went to another shop."

This is an example, with a made up name and business.

Fix it yourself

  1. Write down your right details. Your shop name, address, phone number and hours. Use this as your master copy.
  2. Make a list of every place you are listed. Think of Google, Justdial, food or booking apps, Facebook, Instagram and your website.
  3. Open each listing on your phone. Compare it with your master copy. Note anything that is different.
  4. Sign in to each app as the owner. Open your shop page and tap edit. Change what is wrong and save.
  5. Use the same spelling everywhere. Small changes like a short form of your road name can confuse apps.
  6. Check again after a few days. Some apps check a change before they show it.

Our guide on one phone number on Google and other apps has more help for the number. For iPhone and Bing users, see Bing Places and Apple Maps.

What fixed looks like

You open each listing. Each one shows the same name, address and phone. When you call the number on each one, your phone rings.

Common questions

I work from home. Must I show my house address?

No. You do not have to show your house address anywhere. Show your area, and keep that the same everywhere.

I cannot sign in to an old listing. What now?

Ask that app's help team to give you access. Keep a photo of your shop sign or a bill ready. Never share your OTP with anyone who calls you.

Will matching details bring more customers?

Nobody can promise that. But it stops customers from reaching a wrong number or a wrong lane.
