A customer looks at how good your reviews are, and also how new they are. If your last review is months old, your shop can look quiet. Make asking for a review a daily habit, and ask every customer the same way.

Meena runs a ladies tailoring shop. She had 60 good reviews. She felt safe.

But Pulse showed her something. A tailor in the next lane got 18 new reviews in 90 days. Meena got 2.

Her old reviews were still good. They were just old. A new customer saw a busy shop next door and a quiet one here.

This is an example, with a made up name and business.

What Pulse looks at

Pulse counts the new reviews you got in the last 90 days. It counts the same for similar shops near you. Then it shows you both, for example: "Sharma Tailors got 18 new reviews in 90 days. You got 2." Your score card also has a row for your reviews next to nearby shops.

Fix it yourself

  1. Get your review link and a QR card. Our guide on how to get more Google reviews shows how. Keep the card at the counter.
  2. Ask every customer, every day. Ask when you hand over the order or the bill. Use the same words for everyone.
  3. Send one WhatsApp message after the visit. Thank them and add your review link.
  4. Reply to every new review within a day or two. Good or bad. Our guide on how to reply to Google reviews has examples.
  5. Fix the complaint that keeps coming up, if your reviews show one.
  6. Look again after a month. Count your new reviews. Run your next check to compare.

If Pulse says your rating is lower than shops near you, read why shops near you are rated higher too.

What never to do

  • Do not ask only the customers who look pleased.
  • Do not offer a gift or a discount for a review.
  • Do not write reviews yourself or pay anyone for them.

Google can remove such reviews. Viabe never writes, buys or rewards reviews.

Common questions

I already have many good reviews. Is that not enough?

Old reviews still count. But new ones show customers that you are open and busy today.

How many new reviews should I aim for?

There is no fixed number. Look at the shops near you in your results, and keep a steady habit.

Will this put me ahead of the shop next door?

Nobody can promise that. You can only make asking a habit and keep at it.
