A customer who finds your page wants to know one thing. Are you still open? If your last post is months old, they may think you are not. Post at least once a week, so your page shows a shop that is open and busy.

Arjun runs a bicycle repair shop. He made an Instagram page two years ago. He posted twice, then forgot.

A new customer told him, "I saw your page. The last post was from 2024. I thought you had closed."

The shop down the road posted every week. New bikes, small repairs, a Sunday offer.

This is an example, with a made up name and business.

Fix it yourself

  1. Pick one day a week. For example, every Monday morning. Put a reminder on your phone.
  2. Take photos as you work. A new item, a finished job, a full counter. Keep them in one folder.
  3. Write one short line for each photo. Say what it is and why it is good. Simple words are best.
  4. Post one or two each week. Share them on your page on your chosen day.
  5. Post your hours when they change. Festival hours and holidays matter to customers.
  6. Reply to comments and messages. A quick reply shows someone is there.

Some post ideas:

  • something new in your shop,
  • a job you finished today,
  • your staff at work, if they agree,
  • an offer, with the dates it runs,
  • a customer question and your answer.

You can share the same posts on your Google listing. See posting on your Google listing. For a full weekly habit, see a weekly Google listing routine.

Common questions

I have no time to write posts. What is the least I can do?

One photo and one line, once a week. That is enough to show you are open.

Can I use photos from the internet?

No. Use your own photos of your own shop. Customers want to see the real place.

Will posting bring more customers?

Nobody can promise that. But a page that looks alive is easier to trust.
