Customers often check reviews before they visit. A shop with few or no reviews can look new or unknown. Make it easy to review you: get your own review link, put it on a QR card, and ask every customer the same way.
Ravi opened a small paint and hardware shop last year. Customers liked his advice and his prices. Many said, "I will tell others about you."
But his Google listing had just two reviews. A shop down the road had many more.
Nobody had asked Ravi's customers to write a review. And nobody knew where to tap.
This is an example, with a made up name and business.
What Pulse looks at
Pulse reads your reviews and how many new ones you got lately. If you have few or none, Pulse tells you to ask your customers to post a review on Google.
Fix it yourself
- Get your own review link. Open your Business Profile. Look for the option to ask for reviews, then copy your review link. It opens the review box for your shop only.
- Make a QR card. Use any QR maker to turn the link into a code. Print it with one line: "Please tell others about us on Google. Point your phone camera here to write a review."
- Put it where people wait. On the counter, the billing desk or the table.
- Make a WhatsApp message. "Hello from Ravi Paints. Thank you for coming to us. If you have a minute, please tell others about us on Google." Then add your link.
- Ask every customer. At the counter, or by WhatsApp after the visit. Use the same words for everyone.
- Reply to each new review. It shows you read them.
Our guide on how to get more Google reviews has more ways to ask, like a line on your bill.
The three rules
- Ask every customer, not only the ones who look pleased. Picking who you ask breaks Google's rules.
- Never offer a gift, a discount or anything else for a review.
- Never write reviews yourself, and never pay anyone for them. Google can remove them.
Viabe never writes, buys or rewards reviews.
Common questions
A customer says they cannot find where to write the review.
Send them your link on WhatsApp. It opens the review box straight away.
Can I ask my family to write reviews?
No. Reviews should come from real customers.
How many reviews will I get?
Nobody can promise that. Each customer decides. You can only make it easy and ask.
