Your Google listing can show small facts about your business. For example, takeaway, delivery, outdoor seating or wheelchair access. Customers use these to choose. If shops near you show them and you do not, add the ones that are true for you.

Kavita runs a small South Indian restaurant. She has done home delivery for years.

Her Google listing did not say so. It showed her address, phone and hours, and nothing more.

The two restaurants near her both showed "Delivery" and "Takeaway". A family looking for dinner at home called one of them.

They never knew Kavita delivered too.

This is an example, with a made up name and business.

What features are

Features are short facts you switch on in your listing. Google calls them attributes. Which ones you see depends on your type of business.

Some common ones:

  • For food places: dine in, takeaway, delivery, outdoor seating, vegetarian food, reservations.
  • For many shops: wheelchair access, a restroom, space for groups.
  • For services: appointments.

Only add what is true. A wrong feature can bring an upset customer.

Fix it yourself

Step 1: see what you show

  1. Open Google Maps on your phone.
  2. Search for your business name.
  3. Scroll down and look at the facts it shows.

Then search for businesses like yours near you. Note what they show that you do not.

Step 2: add the features that fit

  1. Open your Business Profile. You can search for your business name on Google while signed in.
  2. Tap Edit profile (Google).
  3. Look for More. Many features are listed there.
  4. Switch on each feature that is true for you.
  5. Save.

If you cannot find a feature, it may not be offered for your type of business. Check your main category first. Our guide on choosing the right category explains how.

Google may take some time to show the change.

Step 3: check once more

Open your listing on Google Maps after a few days. Check that the features you added show correctly.

Some features are added by Google from what customers say. If you see one that is not true, edit it.

Fill in the rest too

Features are one part of a full listing. Also check your opening hours, your photos and your services list. Our Google Business Profile checklist covers it all.

Common questions

Shops near me show live music. Should I add it?

Only if you really have it. Add what fits your business, not what others show.

Can I remove a feature later?

Yes. Switch it off and save, the same way.

Will features bring more customers?

Nobody can promise that. But they help a customer see if you have what they need.
