When a place near you launches new products, customers notice. You do not need to copy them. Show your own best items, and anything new you really have. Keep your listing up to date. Then tell your own customers.
Neha runs a gift and stationery shop near a market. A shop nearby launched a new range of gift boxes.
Neha had new handmade diaries and Diwali hampers. But her listing still showed last year's photos.
She added her new items with photos to her listing. She ran a small festival offer on her hampers, with a price and dates.
This is an example, with a made up name and business.
Fix it yourself
- Do not rush to copy. Their new item may not suit your customers.
- List what is new with you. A new dish, a new brand, a new service, a seasonal item.
- Show your best sellers too. Customers want to see what you are known for.
- Add them to your listing. Open your Business Profile and tap Edit profile. Look for Products, Menu or Services. Our services list guide shows how.
- Add real photos. Your own items on your own shelf. See our photos guide.
- Post about what is new. Our guide on posting on your Google listing shows how.
- If you want, add a short offer. Your own item, a clear price, clear dates.
- Tell your own customers. Send it on WhatsApp to people who already message you.
Rules to keep
- Show only items you really have.
- Never copy another shop's photos, words or product names.
- Never name or criticise the other shop.
Common questions
I have nothing new. What can I show?
Show your best sellers with fresh photos. A clear, current listing helps too.
Should I start selling what they launched?
Only if your customers ask for it and it makes sense for you.
Will new photos bring more customers?
Nobody can promise that. They show customers you are active and what you offer.
