People look at photos before they read anything. If your page on an app has no photos, it can look closed or empty. Take a few clear photos. Add them to each app where you are listed.

Suresh runs a sweet shop. His Google listing has many photos. His page on a listing app had none.

His daughter showed him the app. Every shop near him had bright photos of sweets. His page was a grey box with a name.

"It looks like nobody is there," she said.

This is an example, with a made up name and business.

Fix it yourself

1. Take five or six clear photos. Shoot in daylight. Hold the phone steady. - the front of your shop with the sign, - the inside, clean and tidy, - what you sell, close up, - your staff at work, if they agree. 2. Pick your best ones. Leave out blurry or dark photos. Leave out photos of people who did not agree. 3. Sign in to the app as the owner. Use the account that manages your page. Type the OTP yourself. 4. Open your shop page and tap edit. Look for photos or images. 5. Upload your photos and save. Some apps check photos before they show them. 6. Look at your page like a customer. Search for your shop in the app. Check that the photos show.

Our guide on adding photos to your Google listing has more ideas for good shots. Use the same photos on Google too.

What fixed looks like

Your page on each app shows your shop front, your inside and what you sell. A new customer can tell what you are at a glance.

Common questions

Can I use photos from the internet?

No. Use only your own photos of your own shop. Other photos can mislead customers.

How often should I add new photos?

Add new ones when something changes. A new menu, new stock or a fresh paint job are good reasons.

Will photos bring more customers?

Nobody can promise that. But a page with clear photos is easier to trust than an empty one.
